KANO-Vanguard Correspondent in Kano and his family escaped death by whiskers when they ran into hundreds of rioters along eastern by pass in Kano, Monday.
Mallam AbdulSalam Muhammad was on the highways with his entire family going to his residence in Naibawa quarters of the municipality when they ran into hundreds of hoodlums.
Narrating the norrow escape, Abdulsalam said: “The hoodlums who were mainly teenagers were being led by a man in his early 40’s, and without provocation descended on us and in the ensuing melee, my wife Safiya Lawal was attacked with weapons.”
Others who sustained injury in the attack include Umi Zabaida Muhammad 6, and his younger brother Muhammad Naziru Muhammad.
The three sustained various degree of injury.
The private vehicle with which the entire family was traveling on the highway was vandalized while trying to escape the furry of the rioters .
Several other motorists traveling on the highways suffered the same fate as no fewer than 8 burnt vehicles littered the entire stretch of the highways.
Horde of sympathizer since the incident, hav been thronging the residence of the Vanguard reporter in Naibawa quarters in Kano to register their condolence.
