Suleja blast: Relatives of victim cry out

BY OKEY NDIRIBE

ABUJA – Relatives of one of the deceased victims of last Friday’s bomb blast at Suleja, Niger State yesterday protested against what they described as government’s insensitivity over the loss of their loved one.

Chaplain Paul Isidahomhen, who led the protest which took place at the scene of the blast, said his sister, identified as Rita Isidahomhen, was one of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, ad-hoc staff who were killed by the bomb blast alongside 12  others on the eve of last Saturday’s National Assembly elections.

He lamented that ever since the incident occurred, neither INEC nor the Federal Government had bothered to reach out to his family over the gruesome death of his sister.

He further stated that the late Rita had informed him that she was asked, last Friday, by INEC to report to the Suleja office of the commission where she had been recruited as an ad-hoc staff.
