AKURE – DESPITE the performance of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in the South West in the National Assembly election, the Defence Minister, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode assured that President Goodluck Jonathan would win the region in the Presidential election on Saturday. Speaking with newsmen, Kayode said there was no cause for alarm as the PDP Presidential candidate would win convincingly in the Saturday polls.
According to him, the victory of the ACN would not be a yard stick that the electorates would use in voting for President Jonathan. The Minister said the people of the South West “are highly educated, literate and enlightened, they know what they wanted and they cannot be easily brainwashed not to vote for the President.
“Let us consider President Jonathan apart from his pedigree, he is the current president. He is known, he is liked and loved by the people. People can assess him and they expect great things from him. “The challenge of other candidates will not be on the same pedestal with him because, he is really, head and shoulder, above them and that is the factor that will determine the winner of the election and I am very pleased about that because it is not the political spin of using the media hype but it is the individual that the people want to trust with their votes.
