By Uduma Kalu

LAGOS – It was a carnival of sorts at the Abalti barracks, Lagos, when Igbo groups, eminent individuals, cultural troupes gathered to ask the Igbo to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan.

At the meeting organised by the umbrella Igbo group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos,  Aka Ikenga, League of town unions and Anioma, Ndi Eze N’Uzo Ije, Igbo speaking community, Ndigbo Market Associations, Igbo Nollywood, Umu Ada Ndigbo and Royal Daughters and notable Igbo personalities, the Igbo condemned the imbalance in the leadership equation of the country.

They expressed support for the principle of rotation of the presidency of Nigeria along geo-political zones and not on North and South basis, saying time was  ripe for the presidency to rotate to the South South geo-political zone.

According to  them, it will lead to the beginning of the process of addressing the structuring imbalance in the polity.
