LAGOS – As Nigeria, yesterday, joined the rest of the World to celebrate the World Health Day, the Lagos State government has urged Lagosians to adopt better health habits by discouraging self-medication and patronise only qualified medical personnel, as the misuse of medications were detrimental to their healths.
Making the call at a briefing to mark this year’s World Health Day tagged: “Combat Drug Resistance” with the slogan, “No action today, No cure,” the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris, urged the public to adopt better health habits with a view to minimizing the menace of drug resistance and ensure the effectiveness of medicines.
