ABUJA – The Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc, MINT, has said that its doors were open to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the printing of ballot papers and other electoral materials for the re-scheduled general elections.

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, yesterday, Managing Director, Mr. Ehi Okoyomon, said the electoral body had not yet, however, approached the company for the printing of the shortfall of materials for the elections which will start tomorrow.

“As at today, the NSPMC has not been approached by the INEC to print ballot papers or anything.  We are not printing any ballot papers for the INEC. They have not approached us yet.  But we are ready and willing to offer such services if INEC requests us to do so”, Mr Okoyomon said.  

According to him, “it is true that the NSPMC is high security printing organisation. We print all manner of security documents and in the past have printed ballot papers but as of today, we are not printing any such material for INEC,” the MINT MD stressed.
