ABUJA-A member representing Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo/Odigbo federal constituency of Ondo State in the House of Representatives, Emmanuel Omotayo Adedeji, yesterday alleged that his life was under threat from some politicians who saw him as a stumbling block to their ambition.
Ayodele, who is the Chairman, House of Representatives’ Committee on States and Local Government Matter, alleged that a chieftain of Labour Party (names
withheld) sent hired assassins after him with specific instructions that he should either be killed or maimed.
The federal lawmaker, who recently dumped the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, with a view to realizing his ambition of returning to the lower chamber of the National Assembly, explained that heescaped death by whiskers on Tuesday night, following hints by his supporters that the said Labour Party chieftain had sent hired assassins after him.
The lawmaker, who spoke from his hideout yesterday, said “my opponents, who have become very uncomfortable over my popularity in the race for the Oke-igbo/Ileoluji/Odigbo federal constituency seat, have been doing all sorts of things to shut me out from the race.”
