Ogun Traffic Agency arrests 16,000 drivers, cyclists

Abeokuta -The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has arrested 16,000 drivers and cyclists for various traffic offences since its establishment in 2005.

Mr Ayo Sangofadeyi, the corps Commander, made the announcement in Abeokuta when he received a South African traffic expert, Mrs Bonny Thobella, in his office.

Sangofadeyi, who shared his experiences in traffic management in the last six years with Thobella, attributed the success of the agency to the dedication and commitment of the agency’s 617 staff.

He explained that TRACE, which maintained five zones in the state, had its operations divided into four departments, namely, Special Squad, Lion Squad, Rescue Operation and Enlightenment.
