LAGOS – A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, yesterday, insisted that the Managing Director of Folio Communications Ltd, Fidelis Anosike and his brother, Noel, their company (Folio), and two others facing a 21-count charge of stealing over N3 billion worth of property belonging to the Daily Times of Nigeria, must appear before it (court) to face the charge preferred against them by the Federal Government.
Justice Patricia Ajoku, trial judge in the matter, who was angry at the absence of the accused persons, again in court, gave the suspects April 11, 2011 to appear before her to answer to the criminal charge of conspiracy and assets stripping brought against them.
Counsel to the accused persons had drawn the attention of the judge to the order of another judge, Justice Charles Archibong, who quashed the said charge file by the Federal Government against the accused persons, even though the charge was not before his (Archibong) court.
Justice Ajoku, however, insisted that the order was not before her, and that the court will continue with the arraignment of the accused persons.
