BY KOLADE LAREWAJU

ABEOKUTA -THE campaign train of the Ogun State Governorship candidate of the Labor Party, LP, Chief Olajide Awosedo, yesterday ran into troubled waters when his convoy ran into some motorcyclists at the Ayepe Junction in Ikenne Local Government area of the state killing two of them on the spot and injuring several others.

Irked by the killing of their colleagues, the motorcyclists mobilized themselves and set ablaze a vehicle in the convoy conveying instruments for the campaign.

Awosedo was in the Local Government Area to campaign for his 2011 governorship bid. The report of the incident forced the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial candidate in the state, Gen. Adetunji Olurin, (rtd) to postpone his campaign earlier scheduled in the town.

Eyewitnesses account said that the campaign train of Chief Awosedo, which was coming from Sagamu, rammed into the Okada riders, at the junction where they usually parked to solicit for passengers, killing them instantly.
