LP calls for redeployment of Ekiti Police chief

ADO-EKITI – The Labour Party, LP, in Ekiti State has petitioned the Inspector General  of Police, Mr Hafiz Ringim, asking for the redeployment of the state  Commander of Mobile Police, Mr Samuel Etafe Erale, saying his continued presence in the state would discredict the April elections.

The party equally raised an alarm that some of the field officers of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,  have  compromised their official positions by hobnobbing with some politicians in the state with the view of rigging  the election in the politicians, favour.

At a briefing  yesterday, the Secretary of the Party, Pastor Kola Oluwawole, said the  party  was compelled to take the decision  based on the information at its disposal, alleging that the police boss had shown disdain and hatred for some politicians.

The LP scribe also alleged of  sinister moves  in  certain quarters to cause pandemonium during the  oolls in two strategic local governments in Ekiti Central Senatorial District, saying “this is aimed at  humiliating the former Governor and LP Senatorial Candidate in the zone, Mr Ayodele Fayose.”
