ONITSHA – Former  Minister of State for Transport, Prince John Emeka, has advised the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to shun the entreaties of some desperate politicians who are forging documents to get on its list for next month’s general election.

Speaking to journalists in Onitsha, Emeka, who is the PDP senatorial candidate for Anambra North, expressed shock that Senator Alphonsus Igbeke who he roundly defeated twice at the PDP repeated primaries held at Joneb Hotel, Awkuzu, could procure fake documents from INEC with which he headed for the court and got judgement last Thursday that declared him the recognised candidate for Anambra North senatorial zone.

But Senator Alphonsus Igbeke, in a swift reaction, described the allegation against him as a blackmail, insisting he did not forge any document.

Emeka, who had already appealed the judgement, described it as a miscarriage of justice on the grounds that the Federal High Court, Abuja, that delivered the judgement did not consider the facts and merits of the case before giving its verdict in favour of Igbeke.

According to him, any attempt to replace his name with Igbeke when the last date for INEC to publish its list had elapsed contravened section 32 of the electoral Act.
