Uduaghan summons doctor for abandoning hospital

The  doctor in charge of the Umutu General Hospital, in Ukwani Local Government Area of Delta State, Dr. Ese Ajueshi, and the Permanent Secretary, Health Management Board, have been directed to appear before  Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to explain why the doctor was absent from his duty post.

Uduaghan, who  gave the directive after an unscheduled visit to the hospital, expressed dissatisfaction at the attitude of the doctor to duty,  saying  Ajueshi should meet him tomorrow  to explain his action.

The matron of the hospital, Mrs. Malitda Etenike, who conducted the governor round the hospital, made frantic efforts to explain the reason for the doctor’s absence from his duty post but the governor was not convinced, saying “ if there is an emergency now, how will you get the doctor to attend to the case?”
