THE Nigeria Police and Vanguard Newspaper are organising a conference aimed at sensitizing Nigerins on the need for a violent-free elections.

The conference tagged: National Conference on Partnering Police for free, fair and credible elections, with the theme; Police , Pivot for Violence-Free Election.

The conference is scheduled to hold as a two-day event in each of the six geo-political zone, with the maiden edition debuting in Asaba, Delta State, for the South-South zone on March 17 and 18, 2011.

According to the co-ordinator, Mr Swill Mavua, the conference will serve as an enlightenment campaign for Nigerians to shun violence in the election .

The Vice-President, Namadi Sambo, is expected to declare the conference open, while Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan will host the occasion and the Inspector- General of Police will give Keynote address.
