ABUJA-Senate President, David Mark, has decried the destruction of his campaign bill boards in Benue South senatorial district. Senator Mark, who is hoping to represent Benue South senatorial district for a record four time at the Senate, condemned the destruction of bills boards of rival political opponents, saying it might jeopardise the success of April polls.
He said: “’It is irresponsible of any group of people whether as a party or individual to hide under the darkness of the night to destroy their opponent’s bill boards’’.
Mark, who also expressed his support for President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2011 elections, said Jonathan had been anointed by God to be President of Nigeria.
Mark was quoted in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Paul Mumeh, as saying that “those opposed to Jonathan’s presidency may indirectly be questioning the Almighty God.”
