ABUJA-Justice Ajoke Adepoju of an Abuja High Court, yesterday, threatened to commit the Inspector General of Police, Mr Hafiz Ringim, to prison over his alleged refusal to comply with series of court orders directing him to produce one Dahiru Yakubu Aliyu in court.

The court had ordered the police IG to produce the suspect, Aliyu, who is a final year student of computer sciences at Abubarkar Tafawa Belewa University of Science and Technology, following an application that was filed by his lawyer for an enforcement of his fundamental human rights.

The suspect had been under detention since January 7, 2011, when he was arrested by police as he went to school to write a spill-over exam and was subsequently transferred to the Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID, in Abuja, where he had been till date.
