UGHELLI – DELTA State gubernatorial candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege, yesterday, said Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has him to contend with in the April 2011 election.

Omo-Agege, who spoke while addressing newsmen in his Orogun country home, said the ACN had proved to be a better alternative to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the country, expressing hope that at the end of the 2011 elections, PDP would witness more deflection of its members to the ACN in the State.

He emphasised that the PDP has added no value to the lives of Deltans, adding that the developmental strides of the ACN in Lagos and Edo States were what the party was parading as a case study in Delta State.

The gubernatorial hopeful said what the Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan administration had done so far was not commensurate with the over N950 billion it has received from the federation account and internally generated revenue since it came on board in 2007.

Omo_Agege said lamented that the Asaba International Airport was a conduit pipe to drain the resources of the State into private pockets, pointing out that; “the Airport cannot be completed in 10 years.”

He noted that the Airports in Gombe and Akwa_Ibom which were started at the same time with that of Asaba had since been completed and put to use. “All Uduaghan parades is street lights and in this morden time where solar is in vogue, Uduaghan is still using diesel to power the lights because the contract for the supply of the diesel must go to someone.”

On his programmes for the State, Omo_Agege promised to embarke on free education at all levels, free health care for all Deltans and massive public infrastructure.

He said he would embark on the construction of at least 300 housing units in each senatorial district in the State as well as Asaba the State capital and ensure that all State establishements were revamped for job creation.

Speaking further, he said he would also build two model schools in each of the 25 local government areas with modern education facilities. He added that he would replicate the Songhai_Amukpe in the other two senatorial districts in the State for human capacity building.
