WHEN I did “Take a trip to the Three Warri LGAs” in the Vanguard of February 7, 2011, I showed that there was no way Emmanuel Uduaghan could have gotten the votes he got from that region in particular, and then in four additional local government areas.

Like a good and sharp camera, the piece captured the area now referred to as Three Warri LGAs and presented a picture of the area and its people, and what was your take home is the fact that the number Uduaghan gave himself and Attahiru Jega endorsed were actually seriously invoked with figures tumbling from the thin air.

But in Uduaghan’s advertorial and reaction to the piece signed by his Consultant, Public Communication and Strategy, and published in the Vanguard of February 8, 2011 he only took solace in history of lies, riggings and make-beliefs. Compare this portion of my piece he quoted: “The rating of Ogboru among the Ijaws of that council area (which probably constitute about 65 percent of that local government population) hits the sky”, and the very next line he purposely omitted: “Go to Oporoza, Okerenkoko, Ogbe-Ijoh and other villages there to find that out”) with his response: “Right from the Mid-West, we (that is, Itsekiri) have always had the majority of the votes coming from the three LGAs in Warri. It is not the first time it is happening this way”.

Even when at this point one was concerned about a local government and sited villages from there, he mischievously pulls the other two local governments along. He muddles things up because he knows I am damn right in this restrictive sense. That is point number one.

Another part of my piece he ignored while responding the way I have just stated, actually had to do with another of the two remaining local government areas, that is Warri South. And may I crave your indulgence to quote myself: “Then take a trip lastly to Warri South Local Government Area with headquarters in Warri. Warri town actually holds about 85 percent of the population in this local government area.

Try to sample views or take an opinion poll. If in every 1000 people sampled across the breadth and length of the town you get less than 900 average supports for Ogboru then give the re-run election to Uduaghan.

That is an assignment for anybody, including INEC! It may well be an assignment for the judiciary as well. You may call it novel. It is appreciatively novel, I dare say”. Because there is just no way he could fault this he merely took consolation in their historic rigging “right from the Mid-West”. His rejoinder has prompted me to go to an area ordinarily I wouldn’t have loved to go to.

We may now further prove that they have been relying on history of rigging right from old Mid-West and “right from the days of Alfred Rewane”, to quote another of his phrase. As we progress let’s be guided by the undeniable fact that demographically Warri town, as we have just noted above and which Mr. Consultant couldn’t deny for he really cannot, is about 85 percent of Warri South Local Government Area. Somebody even said it is up to 90 percent. Okay!

Now, for the purpose of this piece Warri may be divided into almost three equal demographic areas. We have Okumagba Layout as one. You can stay here and be able to speak Urhobo within a year while in a century you may not be able to speak Itsekiri. Let’s take the second third from Oilfield Road/Enerhen Junction through Deco, Igbudu One, Essi Layout, Igbudu Two down to Rubber Plantation/Agbassa/Upper Erejuwa.

Again, you can live here and be able to speak Urhobo within a year while in a century you may not be able to speak Itsekiri.

That’s two third of Warri town already. The other last third may be divided into three parts for convenience. There is the Odion (the area where you have Ogedegbe Street down to Iyara), Daudu/Alders Town, McIver down to Main Market. You can stay here and be able to speak Itsekiri, Urhobo and Ijaw within a year, five years and 10 years, respectively.

Then you have Aghoghovbia/Robert Road, G.R.A., Miller Water Side, Esisi, Okere, Udumusobo and Ajamimogha axis. You can live here and be able to speak Itsekiri, Urhobo and Ijaw within a year, five years and 20 years, respectively.
