The prestigious MTN Nigeria powered Lagos International Polo Tournament which gallops-off with pomp Wednesday received a royal blessing from the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu who is expected as the Special Guest of Honour at the final of the first stage of the prestigious MTN polo fiesta, has expressed happiness at the  commitment of the Lagos polo club and MTN brand to growth of noble game of pool in Nigeria.

President of Lagos Polo Club, Dolapo Akinrele who this to the media, stated that the royal father would be on hand to present the Oba of Lagos Cup to the winners and the runners-up at the Prize Presentation. The glamorous royal prize would be decided between two selected sides in the last game that would climax competition in the first stage of the MTN polo event.

Oba Akiolu who had earlier received a high power delegation of Lagos Polo Club at his palace, also urged to communication giant to do more, given the unifying and the diplomatic credentials of sports in Nigerian political history.

“We are happy with Lagos Polo Club and its numerous sponsors for taking the mantle of  engaging our youths. positively in the area of sports and I would urge them not to relent.

The game of polo has done a lot by turning our people away from negative tendencies through the king of sports,” the Royal father stated.
