ABUJA -President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, has reassured the international community that the forth coming elections in Nigeria would not only be free, fair and credible, but would satisfy all stakeholders and meet international standard.
Mark, who stated this yesterday when he played host to a visiting pre-election monitoring delegation of the International Republican Institute, IRI, led by former President of Ghana, Mr. John Kufour, said: “The consensus of all Nigerians, both government and the governed, is to have a credible election that would be acceptable to all stakeholders.”
Earlier in his remarks, former Ghanaian President John Kufour explained that the IRI team was in Nigeria to assess the preparations towards the 2011 polls, with a view to offering necessary assistance that would facilitate the smooth conduct of the elections.
