Siasia, NFF at loggerheads over salary

Barely three months into his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation, Super Eagles Coach Samson Siasia has said that he is yet to receive his salary for the month just gone by. But in a swift counter reaction, the Vice-President of the NFF, Mike Umeh debunked the coach’s claim, insisting that the federation was not owing the former Eagles forward.

Speaking yesterday, Umeh  said that the federation was committed to honouring his contractual obligations with Siasia, noting that it was in furtherance of the new vision that the football house has made it a cardinal objective to pay the coach’s salary. He affirmed that Siasia was not being owed a dime.

But contracting Umeh’s claims, Siasia said there was no way he would have been paid without the money being credited into his bank account.

“How possible is it for me to be paid my salary without my knowledge. I have not been paid because if such payment had been made by the NFF then my account would be credited. As  I am talking now, I have not been paid”, said the former Flying Eagles gaffer.
