PORT HARCOURT – GOVERNOR Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State has assured that he will continue to take steps to promote security of lives and property in the state. The Governor, who spoke through the Director General of his campaign organisation, Mr Nyesom Wike, promised to “create an atmosphere where people in the state can sleep with their two eyes closed.”

The campaign organisation warned Rivers residents not to view the statement credited to a governorship candidate in the state, who said if elected he would create an atmosphere in the state where people would  sleep with their two eyes opened as a mistake.

Stressing that Governor Amaechi will continue to guarantee a reign of peace  in the state, Nyesom said the Governor would flag-off his local government campaign in the state this week.
