The campaign organisation of Senator Gbemisola Saraki, the gubernatorial candidate of Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, ACPN, in Kwara State, yesterday, raised  alarm over  plans to circulate posters that contains a nude picture with the head of the female politician superimposed on it.

According to the organisation, the posters are billed to be distributed in mosques, today.

In a statement in Ilorin, the Publicity Secretary of the organisation, Mr. Dayo Thomas, said the posters were contracted to be printed in Osun State and are to be circulated in churches and mosques to portray the ACPN gubernatorial candidate in a bad light before the electorate.

Alleging that the mastermind of the ploy are members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who are not comfortable with the politician’s gubernatorial aspiration, Thomas also said that the posters were actually meant to be printed and distributed to coincide with the recently held primaries of PDP in the state to defame the female politician and subsequently make her lose.

He added, however, that the plan was shelved when the popular politician, who is also a serving Senator dumped the party for ACPN.

He said the mastermind of the ploy decided to revive the plan, following Gbemi Saraki’s recent successful outings in the state, especially the ground that had been covered by ACPN.

Thomas said that a formal report had been lodged with the appropriate security agencies regarding the issue.

Thomas said the ACPN gubernatorial candidate will not be cowed, marred or discouraged by the assaults against her person.

The publicity secretary said that the development had only showed how low and desperate her antagonists could be to retain power,  adding that the development is demeaning,  especially for a mother, a daughter, and a sister like the politician, who has done everything possible to meet the needs of people in her constituency and the entire state.

It will be recall that the Senator has been facing a number of persecutions over her aspiration to rule Kwara State.

Since she declared her intention to vie for the exalted office, the female politician has had her home attacked and a number of false information peddled against her person, all in the bid to discourage her from running for the elated office under the banner of the ruling political party in the state.

Apparently to demonstrate her popularity, Gbemi dumped the ruling party for the ACPN, a decision which witnessed a mass exodus of members of the ruling party to the newly introduced ACPN.
