VIGILANT youths, yesterday, morning lynched two suspected kidnappers  after a failed attempt to abduct a woman and her child along the ever busy Eboh Road in Warri, Delta State, while two others escaped death by the whiskers as they succeeded in disappearing into thin air.

One of the suspects was burnt to death at Eboh Junction while the other was beaten to death at Ogboru Road and was about to be set ablaze when the police arrived to retrieve the corpse.

It was gathered that four of the suspects had attempted to kidnap the woman, who was said to be driving a Toyota Camry car along Eboh Road but an alarm by their victim attracted youths in the area, who trooped out in large numbers and chased after them.

Vanguard gathered that the suspects, who came in motor bikes (Okada) ran out of luck as a police check point was close-by, forcing them them to abandon the bike and ran in different direction.

Attempt by the police to take the suspect away was resisted by the angry mob, who insisted in meting out jungle justice on them because of the increasing cases of kidnap in the state.

As a point,  hundreds of youths were seen thronging the Eboh Road by Upper Erejuwa Junction to have a glimpse of the corpses of the dead kidnappers before they were eventually removed by the police from “B” Division, Warri.

Recovered from them were two cut to size double barrel guns and six cartridges.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officers, Mr. Charles Muka confirmed the incident, saying that detectives were already on the trail of the fleeing kidnappers.
