AS the campaign for the April general elections hots up in Edo State, the Senator representing Edo South senatorial district of the state, Senator Ehigie Uzamere, yesterday, described as laughable,  claims by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that those of them who left the PDP for the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, were rejected members of the PDP.

The PDP chairman in the state, Chief Dan Orbih had said at a rally that the three ACN senatorial candidates in the forthcoming elections, in the state, Senator Uzamere (Edo South), Herbettar Okonofua (Edo Central) and Deacon Domingo Obende (Edo North), were rejected in the PDP and that was why they left for the ACN.

But reacting, yesterday, Senator Uzamere, who reminded Orbih that he (Orbih) decamped to the PDP from the ANPP, said that the PDP was in pains because “they knew we left with the soul of the party. I never left because of Daisy Danjuma, whom I have beaten before in 2007 primaries of the PDP.

“Orbih ought to know that in 2007, Daisy Danjuma was a sitting Senator and I challenged her but she failed to come to the arena because she knew I would defeat her.”

“Orbih knew that my reasons for leaving the PDP was as a result of the UNIBEN VC issue, delineation of local government areas in Edo South as proposed by INEC, among others.
