Kwara United FC of Ilorin goalkeeper, Yekini Kazeem has stated that his impressive form and quality are caused by the deep admiration for Real Madrid goal tender, Iker Casillas.

He made this know while speaking with inside out Nigerian Premier League, that the agility and sharpness seen in Casillas has propelled him to improve like the Spanish number one.

“I am a great fan of Real Madrid because of Iker Casillas. His agility and sharpness on the goal-line gives me course to want to grow more and more, given the fact that he is not that tall.

“This has made me grow technically too, as I have built on this which I believe is the reason why the coach has looked my direction since the commencement of the league season. I know that I am not tall like other keepers so I had to work on my agility and sharpness.

“My ultimate dream is to play in Europe where I can showcase my talent. I love the Spanish league so much because of the flair they bring to the game.

“I want to thank the coach, Kadiri Ikhana for giving a young boy like me the starting shirt right from the start of the league. I know that it is because he has belief in me and thank God that he has not let me down since the campaign started.”

“I am a young player looking for an opportunity to establish myself as a good goalkeeper. I did not think that I would be the one in goal since the beginning of the season. I just joined the team to see how I can get some games and improve myself.”

“I am ready to go the extra mile to keep a clean sheet for my team so long as the coach believes in me and field me. In every game, I always make sure I give my best. I love the game because whenever I am on the pitch, I’m so happy that I forget myself and concentrate on the game so victory could be ours.”

“I started playing football just for the fun of it. I wanted to play the game to excite myself but today I found myself making ends meet from it,” he said.
