Lagosians who have been craving for the Super Eagles to come and play their matches in Lagos Wednesday, paid dearly for it. Motorists who plied the Lagos/Ikorodu route were literally in hell as all access roads leading to the stadium were closed as early as 3 pm by men of the Lagos State Transport Management Agency (LASTMA).

The road users complained that there was no prior notice to the road closure as this caused a lot of traffic jam around Western Avenue for long periods.
A driver who was caught in the melee muttered some words of dissent, questioning the wisdom in the road closure as early as 3 pm for a football match that was billed to start at 7 pm. “What nonsense|,” he said, but had to bow to the law enforcement agents as he reluctantly drove away.
