Former Governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion, will be arraigned today before a Federal High Court sitting in Benin, over an alleged N25billion scam bordering on illegal acquisition of the state’s shares and money laundering.
The source also revealed that Igbinedion is expected to face a fresh 68 state count charge when compared to the previous 191-count charge levelled against him in 2008.
The anti-graft body opened fresh investigations into the activities of the former Governor after it received a petition from an indigene of the state.
”The new investigations involved N25 billion and Lucky Igbinedion was said to have refused to honour several invitations since December to answer to the charges,” the source said.
