Worried that the appropriated budget for sports development might not get to the desired sports federations, the Federal House of Representatives Committee on Sports have decided to test-run direct disbursement of fund to the Nigeria Football Federation for the national teams preparation and participation in outlined projects contained in the 2011 budget.

Mohammed Bello Suleiman, chairman of House Committee on Sports said yesterday that the decision became necessary as it was not sure the previous appropriated budget for sports development actually got to the appropriated federations.

“We’re disturbed that our sports is yet to develop to the level it ought to be in view of what have been previously appropriated for its development.
