LAGOS — NINE days after the commencement of the current voters registration exercise, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch  Adeboye, who had used every opportunity to mobilise Christians to register, finally registered, Monday.

Saturday Vanguard exclusively reported last weekend that Pastor Adeboye cried foul over the absence of a voters’ registration centre at the Redemption Camp where over 10,000 people dwell in addition to students, academic and non-academic staff of the Redeemers University of Nigeria, RUN.

Pastor Adeboye became one of the first persons to register at the Camp at about 11.15 a.m. Monday.

Our reporter reports that the wife of the General Overseer, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye also registered at the centre but it was not clear if the entire population of the camp which is estimated at about 10,000 will be able to register before the end of the exercise this weekend.

Pastor Adeboye, however, used the occasion to call on Christians all over the country to endeavour to register, saying that the voter’s card is the only ticket they have to choose a candidate of their choice to rule the country.

He reiterated his earlier call that every Nigerian should register, vote and make sure that their votes count, adding that if the umpire in the forthcoming elections, INEC, flops this time around, he would not hesitate to lead Christians to protest.
