Imo State government has described as laudable the decision of the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs to site a water scheme in the state.
The state Commissioner for Public Utilities and Rural Development, Chief Ben Ekwueme, made the commendation when he played host to a team of officials from the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs.
The team, which was led by Engr. Ibrahim Shehu, was equally accompanied by the contractor, who officially handed over the site to the contractor and consultant for the commencement of the project.
Promising that his Ministry would cooperate with all concerned to ensure speedy realization of the project, the commissioner also disclosed that his ministry, in liaison with the state Ministry of Lands, Survey and Urban Planning, has secured a hectare of land at the Naze Industrial Cluster for actualization of other plans of government.
In his speech, the leader of the team urged the Ministry to cooperate with the contractor and consultant to ensure early commencement and completion of the project.
