Seven days after the take-off of the nationwide voter registration, thousands of people in Warri federal constituency of Delta State trooped out to register amidst acute shortage of registration materials and breakdown of the Direct Data Capture (DDC) machines.
Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Mr. Mofe Edema, who was the first to be registered at the Nana College centre, asked INEC to ensure that all the lost days were adequately granted to the constituency including whatever number of days the Federal Government might give as extension because of technical hitches being experienced at various centres across the country.
Delta State Chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Chief Adolor Okotie-Eboh, who registered next to the council chairman in company of Mr. Amorighoye Mene, the ACN, House of Representative flag- bearer for the Warri Federal constituency said though INEC should be commended in spite of the expected hiccups,he maintained that the delay in the commencement of the exercise in the three Warri is suspicious.
