MAKURDI – The Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to provide a level playing field for all the parties and contestants at the forthcoming general elections.

The Party also implored the Commission to ensure that the polls were not only free and fair but credible in line with internationally acceptable norms and practices.

Fielding questions from newsmen in Makurdi, the Benue State Chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Comrade Abba Yaro counselled that INEC must strive to live above board during the forthcoming polls.

Comrade Yaro noted that the 2011 general elections is significant and critical to the socio-political and economic development of Nigeria hence, the need for transparency and credibility in the conduct of the exercise.

On the chances of the ACN at the forthcoming polls in the state, the Chairman further assured that his party was better positioned to capture power in the state.

“We all know that the time is up for the PDP in Benue State. Followers of developments in the state know that the PDP only exist on paper, in real terms the party is nowhere in Benue State”.

“As at last count all the notable politicians in the state and even political office holders have all moved in their numbers into the ACN because it is the only party that has provided every politician a level playing platform for everybody to actualize their ambitions”, he added.

Comrade Yaro pointed out that the ruling PDP has failed the people of the State hence the massive clamour to have the ACN take over the leadership of the state.
