DUTSE:- Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa state has received his voter’s card at his country home town, Bamaina in Birnin-Kudu local government area of the state, calling on people to exercise patience as well as bear with INEC in the hurdle associated with the exercise.

The governor accompanied by his aides appealed to the people make sure  they collected their registration cards, describing it as empowerment tool with which without they cannot vote and they will never be voted for. “Your registration is your right, as such you have to bear with any difficulties and collect the cards as it is your weapon to elect leaders of your choice”.

It was gathered that despite complaints that trails the on going voters registration exercise people are still eager, waiting on the queue, to collect their register at their various polling wards, however in some places the exercise is yet to commence due to non availability of registration materials and absence of adhoc staff.

A visit to Jigawar, Tsada ward, the exercise was slow as it takes 15-20 minutes before the machine captures a person thumb print, the situation compelled the community to hang around instead of staying on the queue.

While in Fagoji and Garu areas the exercise was a little bit successfully.

Meanwhile, the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Dr. Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi has charged people in his domain to come out with their family members to register, saying it will give them the opportunity to cast their votes for the leaders of their choice.

Speaking shortly after he spent about 15 minutes while registration, the emir said the importance of voter’s registration cannot be over emphasized especially for those that are eligible to vote in the fourth coming elections, he pointed out that the problem bedeviling the exercise wasn’t a deliberate but something unexpected as such people should not consider it as subject of discussion as according to him the Resident Electoral Commissioner in charge of Jigawa had assured him that the commission is doing every thing possible to see that the exercise was successful.

He added that the remaining 76 DDC machines will arrive the state for distributions to the remaining centers and the commission has make adequate arrangement for the centers having problem with their machines as technicians were employed to solve any problem that may occurred with the registration’s machines.

However, in Gumel local government area late arrival of registration materials have caused three days delay as the exercise begin  three days late, a visit to the area indicated that people are waiting the arrival of adhoc staff to commence registration.
