Sunshine Stars FC of Akure top scorer Akombo Ukeyima has said that his invitation to the National team is a new experience and another feather to his cap.

Making this known to Sunday Vanguard Sports, Akombo said he wants to make the team to the Obama tournament in the United States.

“It is a new experience entirely as it is an addition to my CV. Being invited to the team is not just the issue but to make the team that would participate in the tournament. The last game I played against Kwara United on Sunday at the Gateway International Stadium in Ijebu-Ode was not so good because I struggled. Now I want to put more effort in training so I can be fit enough for selection.”

“I am praying to God that I make the team in order for my fans to still have more faith in me and do what I know how to do best, which is scoring goals by the special grace of God.”

“For the camp, everything is going on well. The training is good, the coaches are very friendly with the players and teammates are also interacting well.”

“The training here is quite different because, here is a place to prove yourself while that of club side is where growth is expected. You have to show the stuff  you are made of  because you are representing the Nation,” he said.
