Anxiety over whereabouts of kidnapped Nollywood actor’s wife

BY BENJAMIN NJOKU
FEAR has engulfed Nollywood star-actor John Okafor, (Mr Ibu) as the whereabout of his abducted wife Mrs. Stella-Maris Okafor and his 14-month old baby boy is still uncertain.

Ibu told Vanguard yesterday that it has been more than five days since he last heard from kidnappers of his wife. He expressed the fear that his wife and little boy may have been killed by their abductors.

Mrs. Okafor was kidnapped alongside her 14-month-old baby in Enugu, last Monday evening, while she was returning home with a brother and sister in-law.

Her abductors earlier asked  for N50million, which they  reduced to N5 million only last Thursday.

The actor-comedian who described his wife’s kidnap as “the handiwork of those who want to get at him at all cost” last Thursday expected the kidnappers’ call to no avail.

However, a week after the abduction of mother and child, no traces have so far been left by the abductors.

He laments: “I wonder if my wife and my little boy are still alive. Since last week, I have not heard from the kidnappers again. They have stopped calling me on phone. I hope that my wife will come back to me.”
