THE bail application filed by the embattled Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Folarin, who is currently being detained at the Agodi Prisons, over his alleged involvement in the killing of the factional Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Oyo branch, Alhaji Lateef Salako, will be heard on Wednesday.

The application was filed by the lead counsel to the senator, Mr. Wole Olanipekun, SAN, in an Ibadan High Court last week.

Folarin, Ramoni Jayeola Bankole, Olaide Raji and Raimi Ismaila are being detained on a  two-count charge of alleged felony and killing of Salako a.k.a Eleweomo at Olunloyo area of the state during a PDP local government congress.

It was gathered that Justice Murktar Ladipo Abimbola fixed the bail application for Wednesday January 12 ,2011 for hearing.

Akeredolu prayed the court in the suit to grant his clients bail pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.

The bail application was supported by a 44-page affidavit. Akeredolu had said as a stakeholder in Nigerian project would not jump bail nor do anything that could obstruct the course of justice.

Senators and Ibadan chiefs and other political associates of the senator had visited him at the prison.

Those who had visited him included Senator Iyiola Omisore,  Olorunnibe Mamora and Otun Olubadan ,High Chief Omowale Kuye and Chief Olufemi lanlehin, Dr. Adebayo Adewusi, Chief Lekan Alabi, Alhaji Adegboyega Arulogun, and the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Azeez Arisekola-Alao among others.
