Passengers stranded at Lagos airport

By DANIEL ETEGHE
Following the warning by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), scores of  passengers were stranded at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, due to bad weather.

Stranded passengers were seen sitting at the terminal buildings of MMA2 and GAT  with their baggage.
Passengers whose flights were cancelled were those on IRS flight from Lagos to Abuja and Aero from Lagos to Benin while Air Nigeria from Lagos to Benin, Maiduguiri and Kano were delayed.

Speaking to aviation correspondents, an official of IRS who preferred anonimity said most of the passengers were given back their money due to the cancellation of the flights.

Meanwhile, passengers waiting to board other flights were told to wait pending  when weather could allow them to takeoff or may be re-booked for tomorrow’s flights.
