THE victory of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan in the just concluded Delta State gubernatorial re-run has been described as a collective victory for the people of Delta State and the quest for the consolidation of democracy in Nigeria.

This was the view expressed by Mr. Daniel Reyenieju, who represents the Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Speaking to Saturday Vanguard yesterday in a telephone chat after a consultative meeting with members of the Benin River Political Forum (BRPF) in Koko after the result was announced, Mr. Reyenieju said with this victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), “it is clear to all sceptics that Delta State is clearly a PDP state moreso that the beautiful works done by Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan no doubt endeared him to the electorate who have now clearly demonstrated such by massively voting for him and the PDP.”

Reyenieju congratulated contestants from the opposition parties and called on them to “see their defeat as an act of God which the Divine has clearly manifested through the electorate in Delta State.”

Reyenieju praised the officials of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the conduct of the election, hoping that losers would not start blaminging INEC for their loss.
