Obinna Metu still has two weeks left to live in dreamland. He will be rounding off his six-weeks training stint with world record holder, Usain Bolt in Jamaica this month and Metu hopes to return and wipe the slates in the African sprints.

Metu with all his prowess has been a chronic underachiever on the tracks, but after working with Bolt and coach Glenn Smith since December 3, he believes that he is ready to collect his first international medal in 2011.
“I have been working hard in training. And I know withing me that I can run under 10 seconds with aim of doing well at the London Olympics,” said Metu.
At the World Championships 2009 in Berlin, Germany Metu was due to run with Bolt in one of the heats. But he suddenly fell ill, there were speculations he deliberately opted out of the race. Metu vehemently denied chickening out.
But in 2010 he did not create a better impression in the minds of the athletics buffs as he failed to impress at the Africa Championships in Nairobi, Kenya.
However, the trip to Jamaica on the account of G4S a security firm, Metu seems to be reloaded for a double assault on the world of athletics this year.
“The training with coach Mills is a very big opportunity for me and I hope to make the best use of it,” he said.
With a personal best of 10.16, Metu would have to convince his admirers that his training with Mills was not a Carribean holiday trip, by taking a shot at the 9.85seconds African record set by Olusoji Fasuba since 2006.
