Mimiko condemns Abuja bomb blast

By Dayo Johnson
AKURE—GOVERNOR Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, weekend, condemned the bomb blast on New Year eve which rocked the Mogadishu Barracks in Abuja and its attendant toll describing it as a dastardly act, reprehensible and an antithesis of what Nigerians stood for as a people.

Governor Mimiko in a Statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Kolawole Olabisi, in Akure on New Year day, described the latest bomb blast as one too many and lamented the wanton waste of lives of innocent souls.

He said: “It is a sad commentary on our nation that out of the blues, we have become a country where some unscrupulous people now throw bombs at will to settle scores and create panic.

This sad and unacceptable development is anti all that we are known for and those behind these nefarious acts must be brought to book and punished as they are enemies of the country.

I want to join Mr. President in his call on the security agencies to fish out those behind this reprehensible and shameful act.

“I want to sympathize with the families of those who lost their lives and the injured as well as those who lost their properties to the ignoble act,”
