Osogbo—Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, Senator Iyiola Omisore,  has declared his intention to go back to Senate next year just as he described the Court of Appeal judgment that brought Governor Rauf Aregbesola into the office as a perversion of justice.

Senator Omisore who was a leading Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Osun state before the Appeal Court in Ibadan nullified the election of Prince Olagunsoye Oyilola,  stated that governor Aregbesola’s victory did not really represent the true mandate of the people.

Speaking yesterday at the end of the year get together he organized for members of the PDP in the State, Omisore queried the legitimacy of Aregbesola government when 10 local governments that represents two third of 30 local governments of the state were annulled by the Court of Appeal.

According to him, by canceling about three hundred thousand votes out of a total of just over five hundred thousand votes scored in the election which represented more than half of Osun votes,  showed that more than half of the people of Osun State had been dispossessed of their votes.

He accused the Court of Appeal of refusing to follow judicial precedence by relying on evidence of ward Supervisors, who were moving round on the day of election and were never present in any polling unit.

He argued ttey ought to  apply the case as obtained in Buhari versus Obasanjo that the “only reliable evidence as to what happened in a polling unit on election day is the evidence of the party agents permanently stationed in the polling units as upheald by the Supreme Court in the case.”
