The  President of West African Football Union, WAFU,  is also going to answer queries on his alleged involvement in the bribe-for-votes scandal which recently hit the Federation of International Football Association, FIFA for 2018 and 2022 bids,.

A close source to the commission said that Adamu, who was picked up in Abuja, also has several other issues he would be taken upon by the operatives.

When contacted, EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Femi Babafemi, confirmed that the former DG of the NSC is in the commission’s custody, saying the anti-graft agency needsanswers from him.

It would be recalled that the EFCC had in October said Amos Adamu would be investigated for the £500,000 bribe_for_votes allegation against him by the Federation of International Football Association ,FIFA, while he was a member of the Board of the world football body, FIFA,.

It was also revealed that the sports administrator would be investigated for more financial crimes than the bribery allegation. EFCC spokesman had told newsmen in Abuja that the matter against him at the world football governing body is only a point to start from.

“At the moment, we are acting on the allegations against him at the international level but then in any case of investigation you only know the point you are starting from. You never can tell where it will extend to,” he added.
