The Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Wednesday, urged the Federal Government to probe  alleged job crisis involving several Nigerians working as casual staff at the United Nations House in Abuja, even as it condemned alleged discriminatory practices meted out on them.

The legal body maintained that the onus was on President Goodluck Jonathan to take a critical look  at the allegations, with a view to ensuring that no Nigerian was treated as a second-class citizen in his own country.

The NBA made this call on a day its Abuja branch, Unity Bar, commemorated its 2010 law week.

Outgoing Chairman of Unity Bar, Mr. Abdul Ibrahim, in a speech he delivered on behalf of the NBA, maintained that “it is debasing that such an issue of casualisation of workers could arise in a place like the  UN House. This is highly uncalled for and must be condemned. Any policy that tends to dehumanize Nigerian citizens must not be allowed by government on their own land.”

The ex-NBA boss urged the Federal Government to urgently look into the issue in order to save her citizens from undue humiliation, ill- treatment and all forms of discrimination.

Abdul equally called on members of the National Assembly to eschew  selfish tendencies.
