NINE persons, including a landlord, have been arrested at Ekakpamre, Delta State, following an alleged kidnap of a lady.

Vanguard gathered that the suspects (names withheld) had the lady kidnapped along Udu Road Aladja while driving her Toyota Yaris car.

State Police command’s spokesman, Mr. Charles Muka, who confirmed the story, said that “while driving her Toyota Yaris car along Udu Road Aladja, a Mercedes Benz car with five men stopped her and forced her into their car.

“She was taken to a house at Ekakpamre town, locked inside the house from where she managed to escape to the police station. And swiftly, three teams of policemen stormed the hideout of the kidnappers and arrested eight of them, while efforts are on to track down the ring leader, now on the run and the landlord of the house”.

In a related development, a Catholic Priest, Reverend Father David Mario Dibie, has raised alarm over threat by a gang of kidnappers to abduct him for a ransom of N500 million.

The Priest, who disclosed this during a thanksgiving service at Saint Joseph’s Cathedral Catholic Church, Asaba, said he had received series of calls and text messages to that effect.

When he was cornered by reporters to find out whether he had officially lodged the threat to police, he said no, that God was his protector.
