Magu
THE Chairman, League of Patriotic Lawyers, Mr. Abubakar Yesufu, has called on the Senate to reconsider its decision not to confirm the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, as the substantive head of the commission.
Briefing newsmen, recently in Lagos, he said the rejection had placed a moral burden on the Senate.

He said: ”Ït is now crystal clear that the Senate wants a pliable character to head the anti-crime commission.
The league enjoins all human rights group to stand with Magu and condemns this rejection.

The league urges the Senate to reconsider its stand. We warn that plans may be afoot to occupy the National Assembly if this rejection is not rescinded.
“Since Magu took the gauntlet to unveil the naked ugliness of corruption the market square, the lead had always known that corruption would and has eventually taken the challenge to undo Magu’s punches on the cesspool of corruption in the country. The league also advises the President to represent Magu for consideration and reappraisal”.
