Rev. Oladosu
Pastor in charge of Progress Baptist Church,Elewedu Ijoko,Ogun State, Rev.Paul Oladosu has identified the route cause of leadership failure in churches.

Rev. Oladosu
Addressing newly nominated workers of the church at a retreat organized for them titled”You and Your Pastor In The Right Attitude For Kingdom Growth,”said many leaders had failed not because of their ineffectiveness but because the followers had not created the conducive atmosphere for them to succeed.
According to him, their followers were not aware of the discomforts their leaders were going through occasioned by their inadvertent behaviours that were not in tandem with goals of their leaders.
“It is obvious that followers need effective leaders who know their onions to lead them to the promised land.In the same vein, the leaders also need the support of their followers to make their ministry successful and not miss out of the promised land.”
Followership, according to Rev.Oladosu, was a biblical concept of discipleship which by implication and application one who voluntarily surrendered his or her life to the instruction and direction of a leader.
He told the workers that followership was also a character of Jesus and having the mind of Christ. Effective leadership,he said began with effective followership noting that one may not lead well if one did not know how to follow well.
“It takes a spiritually minded person to submit to someone else that has no physical power over him or one from whom he can gain nothing of physical value.”
He said followers should know that leaders were not substitute to God,were not custodian of wisdom, face myriad attacks, shoulder the burden of the church as an organisation which left them at the mercy of the encouragement of the followers.
