“The man is doing a good job and he is a God-fearing man who is putting in his best in his assignment, so there is no reason for anyone to attack his wife. She fell into a well and it was purely an accident which unfortunate,” the commissioner said.
While one account said she fell into an uncovered well which she did not know about, another account said she went to the well to fetch water and fell into it.
Her corpse was said to have been discovered on Sunday by those who wanted to fetch water from the well following which they raised and alarm.
Men of the special task force were later called in to remove the corpse which was deposited at the mortuary of the Air Force Military Hospital in Jos.
