CHAIRMAN of the Delta State Constructive Engagement Committee, Chief Benjamin Elue, said, Monday, that the former  Minister of Information and leader of the Delta Elders, Leaders and Stakeholders Forum, Chief Edwin Clark, has agreed to work for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate in the forthcoming re-run poll in the state.

Chief Elue, who spoke to newsmen at Uzere in Isoko South Local Government Area, when the committee met with the Delta State Peoples Elders Council, DSPEC, led by the former premier of the defunct Midwest Region, Chief James Otobo, said Chief Clark had not at anytime told anybody that he was going to work for the Democratic Peoples Party DPP candidate, Chief Great Ogboru.

With Chief Elue at the meeting with DSPEC were Senator  Stella Omu, Prof Benedict Ijomah, Chief Mike Adiomtore, commissioner for information, Mr. Oma Djebah, ex-commissioner for information and  Dr. Festus Okubor.

He said, “First, he pledged, willingly pledged that he will work with us to ensure that PDP is returned during the re-run. Secondly, that PDP will be stronger against all opposition and that all individuals who have been alienated by the political development in the state will be brought together in one family.

“At no time did Clark tell you he is going to work for Ogboru, first,  he is a bonafide leader of PDP and I don’t see any person is going to vote for his opponents.”
