We’re contenders, not push overs, Chukwuemeka

By Ime Bassey

Team Manager of Bukola Babes FC, Alloy Chukwuemeka has sounded a note of warning to teams in the Nigerian Premier League that they should  see them as one of the contenders in the league and not push overs.

Chukwuemeka made this known to Saturday  Sports after his teams’s one goal victory over Enyimba of Aba at the Offa Township Stadium in Offa last weekend.

“I said it before that the Enyimba game is one we needed to win for our team and fans to believe in the aspiration of the club. This is a warning to teams in the league to see us as contenders and not push overs.”

“This victory I am sure will spur the boys into a winning mentality and also give them confidence for this weekend’s match against Plateau United in Jos in which I know they will pick a point at least. In terms of preparation for this game, we have put the boys in camp in order to strategize properly for the maximum three points.”

“We are looking far above three points from the two games against Plateau United and Rangers International but at the possibility of picking away points to make up for the few we have lost already.”

“Our original plan was to understand the terrane and see how we can stay in the scene before we set any target. But after playing four games against big teams in the league and beating Enyimba, we have given ourselves a continental ticket as target, this I believe can be achieved at the end of the season.”

Meanwhile,  Captain of Bukola Babes FC of Ilorin,  Seyi Ifabiyi  is optimistic that his team will pick maximum three points against Plateau United at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos in this weekend’s NPL cracker.

Speaking with Saturday Sports, Ifabiyi said the one goal victory against Enyimba last weekend at the Offa Township Stadium will definitely boost the team to another victory in Jos against Plateau United.

“Every game we have played we have  gained experience, so the victory against Enyimba of Aba is a vital one for us as it would boost our morale for full match points in Jos against Plateau United.”

“We are in camp since Tuesday preparing for this game, all the players are ready and are in good shape to file out for victory which is our target but if it does not come, we will be satisfied with a point.

We are determining to pick at least a point from the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos. We will see how we can capitalize on their lost in Kano against Zamfara United. They lost concentration in the second help which allowed Zamfara the time to do the damage. With this, we believe we would come back from Plateau with a point.”
